Staff Agreement – Lifting Disclaimer

The Professional Nursing Agency fully endorses the ACT Governments NO LIFT policy for staff working in the Hospitals and Nursing Homes around Canberra.

As part of our Risk Management practices, all staff from Registered Nurses to Trainees must undertake Mandatory six monthly training in Manual Handling. This remedial training is over a 3 hour period and is a practical session that covers the operation of various lifters, slide sheets and belts used for the movement of clients.

During the course of the training sessions and in the workplace, the Agency's Workplace Assessors randomly visit and check that this practice is being followed by the staff employed by Professional Nursing Agency.

Any PNA staff who do not comply with this strict Risk Management requirement may not be covered in the event of injury by our insurer and could face dismissal.
